Capture special moments in nature and become part of the Rothaarsteig film

The Rothaarsteig video contest runs until August 31st

Rothaarsteig. The Rothaarsteig celebrates its 20th birthday this year and has therefore launched a special video contest. In keeping with the birthday, the motto of the video contest is "Nature is the most beautiful gift". "Nature on the path of the senses has been inspiring people in different ways for 20 years. So we think that this is simply the most beautiful gift in all these years," explains Harald Knoche, Managing Director of the Rothaarsteig Association. For some, it is the spectacular sunsets, for others the babbling water springs or the variety of plants along the way that make it so special. It's good that there are people who capture these natural moments on camera to share them with others.

"The videos from Rothaarsteig fans that we have already received and seen in recent weeks have really inspired us and whetted our appetite for more," says Katharina Schwake-Drucks, responsible for marketing and public relations at the Rothaarsteig, delighted with the submissions so far. The striking thing is that the hiking enthusiasts have very different favorite corners and capture the routes, beautiful moments and fascinating views from very different angles with their cameras.

Exciting prizes await the participants
After the closing date for entries on August 31, the many individual videos will be edited together to create an overall film. "This will be a wonderful film that will show how varied our Rothaarsteig is and how differently guests experience it," says Harald Knoche.

A video should be about 15 seconds long and show a beautiful moment of nature on the Rothaarsteig, the Rothaarsteig trails or a Rothaarsteig access path. It would be nice if the recording has as good a resolution as possible. Landscape or portrait format does not matter. The Rothaarsteigverein is just as happy to receive a cell phone video as a camera or drone shot. The aim is to show the diversity of the Rothaarsteig. "Become a part of the film and then find your own personal nature moments in the overall film," Katharina Schwake-Drucks calls for participation.

The Rothaarsteig Association is raffling off an overnight stay for two people in a Rothaarsteig quality establishment, a voucher for a soothing hike in a Rothaarsteig quality establishment and a private guided tour with a ranger among all participants.

  • Heath landscapes on the Rothaarsteig (Niedersfelder Hochheide, Bergheide on the Kahler Asten, Kahle Pön on the Rothaarsteig trail of the same name, the Heinsberg Heath and the Ginsberg Heath) which offer a great play of colors, especially from August onwards

  • the sunrise, which is particularly good to watch from the hammock on the outskirts of Jagdhaus
  • Suspension bridge near Bad Berleburg-Kühhude
