The rangers of the Landesbetrieb Wald und Holz NRW on the Rothaarsteig

Ranger am Rothaarsteig

Named after their colleagues from the national parks in the USA, the rangers of the Landesbetrieb Wald und Holz NRW look after the well-being of nature on the Rothaarsteig. They ensure compliance with the regulations for the protection of the forest, its animals and plants and maintain the paths and facilities along the "Trail of the Senses".

The six rangers have divided the Rothaarsteig into several sections. This means that each ranger knows "their" Rothaarsteig section like the back of their hand and can provide hikers with expert advice and assistance! So if you meet a ranger on your Rothaarsteig hike, feel free to speak to them!

Are you interested in accompanying the rangers?

No problem! On their exciting guided tours, the rangers bring young and old interested parties closer to the flora and fauna. The rangers offer small groups of up to 25 people the so-called ranger ticket for €7.50 per person. You can easily request your preferred date using the online form or the ranger hotline (+ 49 2972 9702 55) of the Landesbetrieb Wald und Holz NRW.

Tip: You can also find the Südwestfalen Rangers on social media. You can get an insight into their daily work on Facebook and Instagram.
